Trevor Horn – Sound of the 80s

Without record producer Trevor Horn, the 80s would sound quite different.  Trevor started his career producing punk bands in the 70s, had a brief career as an artist in his own right in The Buggles and Yes.  However his work as the producer of 80s music for acts as diverse as Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Dollar put a lasting stamp on the sounds of the decade.  We’ve made Trevor’s Official Website our Website of the Week on The 80s Lunchbox, weekdays at midday on The Cheese.

Stock, Aitken and waterman

Love them, tolerate them or hate them, you can’t deny the influence on mid to late 80s music of top Hit Factory producers Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman. From Rick Astley to Sonia, to Big Fun and Jason Donovan, their style took newcomers and old hands in the music scene straight to the Top Ten. Our Website of the Week is a blog devoted to the production partnership. Hear your favourite 80s hits (not just SAW) weekdays at midday on The 80s Lunchbox.
