Kirsty McColl first hit the charts in 1981 with the quirky little song There’s A Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swear He’s Elvis. She went on to explore her folks roots and studied world music which resulted in many albums and singles until her life was tragically cut short in December 2000. We celebrate Kirsty’s work this week on The 80s Lunchbox by making her official website our Website Of The Week. Find out more weekdays from midday on The Cheese.
